Moving Along
So my car is on the way to Santiago to get everything checked out and the brakes serviced. Lots of brake usage on those windy roads! I have a loaner till mine comes back on Thursday.
What I wanted to talk about today, and tomorrow as well, is the work we are starting to support the Fundacion Ecologica Magua, a non profit here in the Dominican Republic dedicated to coral reef restoration. They are doing amazing work, including reviving some species of coral that were virtually extinct! Some very good friends have agreed to join me in forming a U.S. 501c3 to act as a fundraising arm to support these efforts, and others over time.
A big thanks to Kimberly Meyers, Amy Voss Dolce, Elvira Medina, and Holly O’Rourke for volunteering to help in this effort! You’ll be hearing more from us as things move along. Of course, if any of you would like to volunteer, we’ll have lots of opportunities.
Tomorrow, I will post an update on the Fundacion’s work including some photos. Hope you enjoy learning more about the work that is going on to restore the coral reefs here in Sosua and other places in the Dominican Republic.
Stay tuned!
